Speaker's Bio: Thorsten Beinke
Royce Dodds is an established specialist in decorative inkjet printing with both practical and documented technical credentials in the German-based décor industry. Over more than two decades he has worked with major players such as EGGER Holzwerkstoffe Brilon and Wilsonart, focusing on digital print workflows, surface structures, and design development for decorative boards and laminates. In recent years, Dodds has become a key figure in the application of AI generative imaging—over the last two years, he has developed original designs with AI tools, several of which have found commercial use in the décor market.
His skill set is evidenced by named inventorship on patents such as US9782797B2 “Method and device for producing a structured varnish surface,” assigned to Fritz Egger, which describes digitally controlled creation of 3D varnish textures matched to décor images on board substrates. In parallel, symposium and workshop programs list him as a speaker on topics including inline colour control, AI-based décor design, and digital surface treatment at events like the DIPA Symposium, DIPA Academy’s “Surface in Motion” workshop, the Decorative Surfaces Conference, Fogra Colour Management Symposium, and FuturePrint webinars and podcasts.

Panel Discussion “Surface Stories: Turning Furniture, Flooring and Decor Paper Pain Points into Winning Designs”
Join our panelists as they discuss these key topics, PLUS:
A little like a TED talk as finalé: “Beyond the Printer: Building the People and Data Workflow for Profitable Surface Decoration”
Investing in a new digital Printer or scanner is only half the story in furniture, flooring and décor paper production. The real ROI depends on the invisible workflow around it: clean design data, colour‑managed print files, trained operators, and aligned processes from surface design through to quality control. This session walks through a practical end‑to‑end workflow, highlighting the hidden bottlenecks and skills gaps that often derail digital investments—and how to turn them into sustainable productivity and profit wins.

Jan Seguda, ColorGate
Speaker's Bio: Jan seguda
After Jan Seguda was able to gain professional experience in several agencies, his path finally led him as a tile designer to the reputable German tile producers, Villeroy & Boch. In the “Ceramic Development Digital Printing” team, he was responsible for the conversion of Rotocolor and the production of existing digital print series. Since the beginning of digital ceramic tile decoration Jan is familiar with the subject matter. Fascinated by the back then still young printing technology and encouraged by the challenges of fluctuating production processes and changing raw materials to a consistent color reproduction, Jan adopted the possibilities of Color Management to solve problems.
To adjust customized designs to true colors, ensure consistent color reproduction and thereby constantly optimize the process, quickly became a mission for him. When ZSCHIMMER & SCHWARZ, a chemical industry company, strengthened its digital printing sector in the tile sector with him, he gained interesting insights into ink development and the chemistry behind ceramic production. Another component was the “Digital Printing Assistance” division: the definition, development and expansion of quality assurance standards became part of Jan’s portfolio. For numerous Color Management assistants abroad, Jan was confronted with the most diverse requirements for a suitable workflow and known as a carefully pragmatic problem solver in digital printing.
From communication design to tile production to a chemical industry company – the way into software development at ColorGATE is the next logical step for Jan Seguda. During his assistants, he was constantly researching the best solution providers to define the Color Management process for customers as efficiently and accurately as possible.
